Grants and Scholarships

2016-2017 MINNESOTA GRANTS AND SCHOLARSHIPS
Thank you to the Argosy Foundation, Cummins Power Generation and University of St. Thomas Gibney Award Foundation for allowing us to offer these grants and and scholarships to Minnesota teams!

appropriate grant or scholarship.

Teams are not eligble for multiple scholarships. 


BOSTON SCIENTIFIC EMPLOYEE  and PARTNER SCHOOL GRANTS
 These grants are designed for Boston Scientific Employees and Boston Scientific Partner Schools who are associated with Jr. FIRST® LEGO® League, FIRST® LEGO® League or FIRST® Tech Challenge Teams. 
 
Boston Scientific Minnesota Partner Schools
  • Garden City Elementary, Brooklyn Park
  • Zanewood Community School, Brooklyn Park
  • Palmer Lake Elementary, Brooklyn Park
  • Brooklyn Jr. High, Brooklyn Park
  • SISTERS and BEST Academy, Minneapolis
  • Como Park Elementary, St. Paul
Application Due Date: August 15, 2016
Apply only once. Applicants will be notified within 2-3 weeks of submission.  
 
 

 HIGH TECH KIDS SCHOLARSHIPS
High Tech Kids offers a very limited number of scholarships to Minnesota rookie teams.
These scholarships are one time only and not renewable. Preference will be given to teams comprised of underrepresented youth, rural or urban teams and/or all girls teams. 
 
SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE
    FIRST® Tech Challenge Rookie Teams ($725)
    FIRST® LEGO® League Rookie Teams ($500)
       
 CRITERIA
  • Must be a Rookie Team - Defined as a group of students who have not participated previously in the program
  • Team must be based in Minnesota.
  • Committed Coach - this may be a parent, teacher, or adult mentor
  • Teams must apply for the scholarship BEFORE registering their team nationally with FIRST®.
  • Teams will pay shipping fees and any additional miscellaneous costs.
  • Recipients must register, pay, attend and participate in a regional/qualifying event. 
  • Coaches must attend a FREE Coaches Training hosted by High Tech Kids.
  • Teams who do not fulfill this agreement will forfeit their scholarship.
  • Teams will receive their scholarship reimbursement check at their FLL Regional Tournament or FTC Qualifying event.
