The Challenge:  Building and programming an autonomous robot from the LEGO MINDSTORMS Robotics Invention System. Each robot built by a FIRST LEGO League team must include a robotic arm incorporated in their design. Each robot will run autonomously around a specifically designed course as outlined in the 1999 RuleBook. Each team will score points for completing several small "missions" before the three minute (round) time limit has expired. These five "missions" will require the FIRST LEGO League team to program a minimum of three separate programs into the RCX's five available program slots. All points will be cumulative over the three minute round. The FIRST LEGO League team with the highest number of points after their three minute round will be declared the winner of the round.
